TMT Bars in Kenya — Fe500 High-Yield Reinforcement Steel
Equiserve supplies Fe500-grade TMT (Thermo-Mechanically Treated) bars trusted by contractors, hardware stores and self-builders across Kenya. Every batch meets KEBS reinforcement standards.

About TMT Bars
TMT bars are the modern reinforcement standard for concrete construction. The thermo-mechanical treatment produces a tough outer ring and a softer, ductile core — combining high tensile strength with the elongation needed to absorb seismic and load stresses without brittle failure.
Equiserve stocks Fe500 TMT bars in the full Y-range from Y8 up to Y25, in 12-metre standard lengths. We supply single-bundle retail packs for small jobs and truckloads for contractors and hardware distributors.

FAQ
TMT Bars — questions we get asked.
What's the price of TMT bars in Kenya?
Prices move with global steel and shipping rates. Send us your quantity and delivery location on WhatsApp or through the quote form and we return current per-bar and per-tonne pricing within the hour.
Do you deliver TMT bars countrywide?
Yes. Equiserve delivers to Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Thika, Machakos, Nyeri and all other counties in Kenya. Delivery is arranged with each order.
Are your TMT bars KEBS-approved?
Yes. Every batch we supply meets KEBS and BS 4449 standards for reinforcement steel and carries mill test certificates on request.
What's the difference between Y-bars (TMT) and mild steel round bars?
Y-bars are ribbed high-yield TMT reinforcement (Fe500). Round bars (R-bars) are smooth mild steel used for stirrups, links and light reinforcement. Y-bars carry the structural load; R-bars tie the cage together.
Can I buy TMT bars in small quantities?
Yes. We sell as few as one bar for repairs and small jobs, and by the tonne or full truck for contractors.
How many Y12 bars are in a tonne?
A 12-metre Y12 TMT bar weighs about 10.65 kg, so a tonne holds roughly 94 bars. Y10 gives about 135, Y16 about 53, Y20 about 34.
