About Round Bars

Round bars are smooth, hot-rolled mild steel sections. Unlike ribbed Y-bars they are chosen for workability — they bend, weld and machine cleanly, making them the default choice for fabrication workshops and light reinforcement work such as beam stirrups and column links.

We stock the full R6 to R25 range in 12-metre lengths, sold by the piece, bundle or tonne. Same-day dispatch from Nairobi with delivery to sites countrywide.

FAQ

Round Bars — questions we get asked.

What's the difference between R-bars and Y-bars?

R-bars are smooth mild steel used for stirrups, ties and fabrication. Y-bars are ribbed high-yield TMT reinforcement (Fe500) used to carry structural load. Most projects use both.

What round-bar size do I need for stirrups?

R6 and R8 cover almost all stirrup work on residential slabs, beams and columns. R10 is common on heavier commercial cages.

Are round bars sold per piece or per tonne?

Both — we sell single bars for small jobs and by the tonne for contractors and fabricators.

Can round bars be used for reinforcement?

Yes, for light and non-structural reinforcement. For structural slabs, beams and columns, use Y-bars (TMT / Fe500).

Do you deliver round bars outside Nairobi?

Yes — countrywide delivery is arranged with every order.
